Spring and Birthdays

April and May have flown by. The school year is almost over; I have exactly one week left from today. We celebrated some birthdays and a graduation in the last month. Now we're counting down to summer and vacations. Remember you can see the pictures at full size by clicking on one and scrolling through the gallery.

Abigail on Easter Morning wearing her crown the Easter Bunny left in her basket.
There are not any more pictures from Easter morning, as Adam was video taping the hunt instead.

Abigail a few days later, a pirate princess with a skateboard attitude. My kid is a little odd, but we love her anyway. :)

Adam received 2 awards at a ceremony his professors had for his class. The first was a silly award (they had a different one for everyone). Adam was Master of the Sims Universe, an award he received for creating a very detailed plan for a Radiation clinic using my game. Look where the arrow is pointing and you'll see Adam. His second award was a real one. He was voted best in the clinic by the therapists he and his classmates interned with.

Ethan turned one on April 26; we celebrated with a  small party. He's such a big boy. He's walking everywhere now, and into EVERYTHING! He's a climber too. He has 7 teeth and says, "Mama, Dada, and Aba (Abigail)."

For my birthday we went to see Disney on Ice.

First, we had dinner.

Then we arrived early at the Thomas and Mack Center and hung out waiting for the show to start.

Overall it was a nice show. It didn't start until 7pm (bedtime), and was two hours long. The kids both stayed awake for the entire show. Everyone had a good time.

Random picture, story time in the office.

Adam celebrated his birthday and graduation on the same day. We went back to the Thomas and Mack Center for Adam's graduation on May 19. Unfortunately my camera died, and the only pictures of Adam I got were on my cellphone and not so great.

Walking out after the graduation.

Now we are waiting for summer and our vacation with my parents. I made this decal here: http://buildyourdisneyside.com/Detail/84c63ff2-efcf-4180-ad88-08b691da1246
Disney is shipping us an actual decal for free, which I think is pretty cool. Anyone can make one and have it shipped for free. Too bad I accidentally put Ethan in a Minnie shirt. Oh well.

April Fun

It's finally Spring Break. State testing is over and I can rest a little this week. The week before break 2 LUCKY students of mine got the chance to pie me in the face. They earned this reward by reading a lot of books, passing quizzes on those books, and racking up over 200 points! I couldn't really say no (well actually I could, but that wouldn't be very nice).

Look at me Ma, no hands!

Sorry, this was from my phone and I can't change the direction.

EGG HUNT: We went to an Easter activity at a park this weekend. It included an Egg Hunt, the hunt was pretty poorly organized, but Abigail enjoyed herself overall.

Backyard fun

Abigail and Ethan sliding together. He loves this and giggles and so much.

Ethan's hair is finally getting longer, and it's starting to curl. His birthday is in just 2-weeks. I can't believe he's already going to be one.

Remember, the pictures can be viewed in full size if you click on one. The videos can also be made larger.

March

SNOW: February ended with a little rain, so on the first day of March we headed up Mount Charleston to see some snow. We had a lot of fun playing in the snow and sliding down the long hill.

YARD WORK: We planted a small patch of grass in our backyard behind our patio. The area was previously just dirt, rocks, and weeds.
Laying down good dirt. Silly having to BUY dirt!

Abigail and the green grass

We had to soak the grass, so it seemed like a good time for water hop-scotch. It was a little cold, but Abigail and Adam had fun anyway.

Abigail watched us lay the grass.

We have the slide, 2 swings, and plenty of area for tricycle riding under the covered patio.

BUBBLE RUN: We ended the month by completing our first 5K, the Bubble Run. This was a lot of fun, it was 3.1 miles through old downtown Las Vegas. Along the way they had these bubble stations that you could run through. If you went through the middle the bubbles were 8ft high. Ethan did not like the bubbles and Adam had to carry him through each station after the first. Abigail loved it and wants to do it again.

After the Run

We were all colored once we got home, but it washed off of us and our clothes.

We went to lunch at the mall after cleaning up. We stopped to see the Easter Bunny, but they wouldn't let us take a picture. Right across from there Build A Bear had their own bunny, and they happily let us snap a picture.
