Abigail Walking

As mentioned before, Abigail took her first steps on March 25th. Since then she has been walking between Adam and I. She thinks this is a great game and has since spent many hours walking to us. On Easter Sunday Abigail decided to walk into the middle of the Relief Society room several times. I was sitting in the front row and she was standing holding onto the chair and just walked into the middle of the room. She has since been walking absently a few feet into the middle of the room and just standing. Well today, today she decided it was time to really walk. She has begun to tottle around the house. She began by playing with Adam and I on the floor around noon, and has since been wandering around the house. Check out the videos below for some footage.

Abby with her Daddy tonight. She does not want to look at the camera and smile for Mommy.

Abigail Plays

This is one of Abigail's favorite ways to play. She just loves that cupboard, especially opening and closing the doors. She has recently discovered the diapers on the top shelf. The other day, she pulled them all out. After filming this video, I moved them to the storage closet (behind the white door).

This is what she did the other day.

Abby folds laundry

Abigail is "helping" us fold laundry. She did the same thing a few minutes later when we folded her clothes. I didn't want to discourage her "help," but honestly!

Here are a few other pictures from Saturday:

Mother's Day Weekend

On Friday night Rowena kept Abigail. Adam and I taped up the baseboard and crown molding in the family room. Saturday morning we moved all of the furniture out of the room and painted it. The condo had orange walls and I lived with them for more than two years. When we bought this place I told Adam that I was not going to live with the orange paint that long again. We painted the family/play room the same green color as the living room. It looks and feels a lot cooler without the blazing orange walls.

BEFORE

AFTER

For mother's day Adam made me breakfast and dinner. We spent the early afternoon at church, had a good nap, and then visited Adam's parents after dinner.

A rose on my bush. I thought it looked especially nice for Mother's Day.

Abigail in her "Minnie Mouse" dress. Everyone kept telling me she looked like Minnie. I thought this was interesting because when I first received the dress (it was handed down, but brand new) I thought it would be cute for her to wear when meeting Mickey and Minnie this summer.

Standing. Abigail took her first steps on March 25th. Since then she has been honing her walking and standing skills. She has become especially good at standing. Yet, whenever she stands for a long period I never have the camera convenient. I finally got a picture of her just standing. Happy Mother's Day to me!

Abigail giving Grandma her card. In the corner you can see her helping Grandma open it by chewing on the envelope.

Abigail walking across the floor. Look at the pictures from left to right to see her move to me.

Abigail stands to play with Grandpa.

Abigail and me. Adam took this picture, it's kind of fuzzy. Rowena took some with her camera too; I'm hoping she has a better one I can steal.

Early May

Here are a few random pictures of Abigail. She is getting very hard to photograph. She spends most of the day crawling and playing on the floor. But it is not easy to capture a moving target. I often get a lot of head turns and blurry movement pictures.

Abigail reaches for the camera almost every time she sees it now.

The Flash strikes again. Just stay still!

I gave Abigail a bath in the bathtub in her bathroom. Usually I bathe her in the baby tub, but I wanted to see if she was ready for the big tub. She seemed a bit confused. She did not enjoy it as much as she normally does, perhaps she was just cranky though.

I made homemade maccaroni and cheese. Abigail ate all of her broccoli before eating the strange yellow stuff. She did the same thing the next day. I guess she just likes broccoli better.

A little bed head in the morning.

Spring Blossoms

For Earth day Lowes was giving away free trees, which here in Vegas happene to be mini palms. Adam and I went and got two of them to plant. They are really just the bulb and a tiny stick. We also picked up some tomato and pepper plants for only $0.50 a piece. The Monday following Easter we planted the plants in our backyard in the back corner. This was a pretty good place for planting as the walls block some of the sun. Also, it appears that someone else planted something there before as the soil is in pretty decent shape.

Our happy plants in their new home.

The first tree we planted. Once it gets bigger, assuming it does, we can move it to the yard.

It's been three weeks and my vegetables are looking good. It hasn't been too hot yet though. My trees don't look like much. Not sure what to do to get them growing.

Easter Weekend

The day before Easter we went over to Adam's parents. His brother John and his family had driven up from Utah to spend the holiday. Abigail had a lot of fun watching all of her older cousins run around. Adam and Abby had fun playing in the backyard with the other kids.

The Easter Bunny came and hid 7 eggs for Abigail to find. She found them all and proceeded to chew on them until I put them in the carton for her. I let her have her plastic egg to chew on when she was done. There was also a basket with bubbles and a treat for her, plus a pretty pink ball.

The table is set for breakfast. I had a present for Abigail on her tray. I also got Adam a few boxes of Peeps, his favorite.

Abigail's first hard-boiled egg. She picked it up and took a huge bite out of it. The picture in the corner shows just how huge. Then she proceeded to choke and gag.

Abigail dressed and ready for church.

Spring Break

My mom came to visit for Spring Break. We had a nice week long break. One day we drove up to the Lake Mead area to take a hike through the old railroad tunnels. The railroad was used to transport materials during the building of the Hoover Dam. Now the rails are gone, but the tunnels are still there.

One of the tunnels we walked through. There are 5 total along the trail.

Last summer we visited that marina with my parents. We never knew this trail was above.

Adam decided to climb some rocks on the way back. Mom, Abby, and I stayed below.

We stopped at the Hoover Dam to eat our picnic lunch. Adam, Abby, and I posed for a family picture. Look to the left and you can see a tiny piece of the new "monsterous" bridge they built.

Abby was happy to have Grandma's extra attention.

Posing!

Early April

Some pictures from early April:

These two pictures were taken at the Church Easter Party the weekend before Easter. Abby found two brightly colored eggs. She found them great for chewing on.

So this is where all of my Cheerios go...

Big Grin!

This is not a great picture, but you can clearly see Abby's first two teeth.

Abby's first pigtails.

She sleeps cute.

I love this picture, she looks so mischevious.
